HISTORY Linux Edubuntu

Edubuntu is a Linux distribution designed to be used in the school / classroom. Edubuntu is an acronym stands for English language education Ubuntu, which freely translated roughly: "education for all". Edubuntu is a variant of Ubuntu.

Edubuntu is more devoted to meet the computing needs of server-workstation. Edubuntu LTSP thin clients using the application, a computer terminal without the disk.

Edubuntu main goal is to allow teachers with limited computer engineering capabilities make the computer lab or on-line educational environment in a short time (about 1 hour) and organize effectively.

THE LINUX VERSION Edubuntu

1. The first Edubuntu release coincides with the release of Ubuntu 5.10 codenamed Breezy Badger on 2005-10-13.

2. With 8.04 Hardy Heron release of Edubuntu was named Ubuntu Education Edition [4] and has been converted into an add-on to a standard Ubuntu installation LiveCD not be installed.

3. From 9:10 onwards version, Edubuntu turned into a complete system is available as a DVD instead of a CD Add-on [5].
